Tia Storey
Loudoun County
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Tia Storey was a free-range athlete from a young age—biking city streets, skateboarding in open lots, and organizing pickup games of soccer and tetherball. She later moved to Virginia, where she competed in school sports including track, basketball, and whitewater kayaking.
Tia’s adult life has been defined by a deep passion for movement and adventure. She trained as a rock climbing instructor, competed nationally in adult volleyball, and has spent the past 25 years coaching, officiating, and mentoring youth athletes. Her approach blends competitive insight with a strong emphasis on teamwork, confidence-building, and joyful learning.
Now based in South Riding, Virginia, Tia shares her love of sport with her husband, three children, four grandchildren, and their four cats—Coco, Tai-Lung, Loki, and Zoe. She continues to expand her own horizons through Tai Chi and community service, staying active as both a learner and a leader.
